Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost One Step Face Cleanser
Leaves skin moisturized and happy feeling
No parabens, no animal testing
Cons: Does NOT remove makeup
Not available in brick and mortar stores
Comes in a pop top cylindrical bottle that is opaque. Pop top hole is large, dispenses a lot of product. Must be careful to not over-dispense. No real scent; slight tinge of citrus.
I’m trying to get away from using Purity Made Simple for a host of reasons. The thing I love about it is that is really is simple: ONE STEP. All makeup gone. No oily feel. I was hoping Paula’s Choice would replace it for me.
On the label, the claims:
“Light and silky lotion cleanses and softens”
“Removes makeup and rinses easily” (“Repeat or use with a clean washcloth to remove heavy makeup.”)
So I don’t wear “heavy” makeup. I don’t even wear waterproof mascara. I’ve been using the Physician’s Formula pink tube Organic Wear. I don’t use waterproof liners. A lot of the time, I don’t even wear a primer, especially lately with the Wet n Wild trios. This cleanser does not remove makeup. I said it. I used varying amounts of cleanser, always in the shower with a steady stream of water. I left it sitting for varying amounts of time. It doesn’t lather much (that’s fine) and does not breakdown eyemakeup. It removes foundation and blush ok, anything else, forget it and use another product. “One step” is a false claim, even if I repeated (wouldn’t that be another step?). Maybe I’m supposed to scrub at my delicate eye area. I won’t do that. The hunt for a one step cleanser goes on. My skin did feel fine afterward and did cleanse like a lotion. It’s just not one step cleansing and makeup removing.
