essie and avon polish
Who: Me!

What: AVON Nailwear Pro+ in Gunmetal (a stormy metallic gray) with essie LuxEffects in Stroke of Brilliance (silver glitter chunks with a hint of blue) layered on top

When: Before a wedding.

Why: Blue sparkles as the “something blue” for the wedding. Plus it’s plain pretty.

Where: In a park with a lake in Massachusetts.

How: Applied one layer of AVON Nailwear Pro+ in Gunmetal as a base. After the base is dried, applied two layers of ssie LuxEffects in Stroke of Brilliance as a top coat.

I’m obsessing over all the different AVON Nailwear Pro+ colors right now. From pastel lavenders to deep maroons to metallic silvers, there’s a color and finish for everyone. They apply smoothly and evenly, and lasts for days even without a top coat! According to Avon, these nail polishes are formulated to strengthen your nails by 80%! Available for $6 on avon.com or from your local Avon Lady.

Essie LuxEffects are just fun nail extras to keep things interesting. They’re perfect for non-artistic people with shaky hands like me to create “nail art.” You can also use them to act as fillers on the top and bottom of your nail to extend the life of a regular and/or gel manicure.  Find them at your local CVS and Duane Reades for $8.

PS: Both polishes are free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP.

Disclaimer – AVON Nailwear Pro+ colors were given as gifts while essie LuxEffects in Stroke of Brilliance was a Klout Perk. Reviews were not expected nor were they sponsored.
