Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Shines Lip Shine in Dancing Queen Review and Swatches
Written by cassandraj, Posted in Benefit, Blog, Cassandra, Product Review, Swatches
Where to Buy: Sephora, Benefit counters (Macy’s, Nordstrom), e-tailers
Pros:
- packaging is cute!
- smooth, non-sticky formula
Cons:
- expensive, def a high-end brand
- slightly plastic scent
Packaging:
I love the packaging! This comes in a black topped tube with a regular lip gloss brush/wand. No doe-foot. The tube is clear in places and makes me think of a test tube that’s holding something expensive like antivenom or something. It feels very exclusive and weighty, like a high-end product. The shade Dancing Queen is a duochrome hot pink reflects blue with frost and microshimmer. The shimmer is finely-milled enough to not feel any resistance on your lips.
Review:
I love the texture of this non-glittery gloss. You won’t feel grit or any residue from the micro-shimmer after the gloss wears off. Wear time is around 2-4 hours. The color seems common; I feel like most brands have a similar shade to Dancing Queen. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that if there are that many dupes floating around, it’s probably a pretty flattering color on a variety of skintones. I’m an NC20 and I think it gives my fair skin a pop of color that still feels sheer and “safe”, not scary or drag queen-ish.
Overall, if I were only going to buy one color from this collection, this would be it. I love the way it feels and the effect it imparts without being *too* dramatic.

The color looks pretty and shiny. I would love it if the price can be a bit lower. There’s some lipglosses with kind of similar color and affordable price
