Benefit Bad Gal Lash Review and Swatches
Dramatic results from a high-end brand?
Where to Buy: Sephora, Macy’s, Ulta
- large tube: lots of product
- large wand
- waterproof version, same price
- formula isn’t too wet
- high end = expensive
- formula is just okay
- not unique
Benefit’s BadGal Lash is a large tube of product with cute, girly font. The coloring is feminine (hot pink!). I like the packaging and really like that for the high price tag it’s a big tube of mascara. The wand is a big one too, similar to Dior diorshow.
This mascara has a high retail price which I find off-putting. I’m not opposed to paying high prices but it’s gotta be a worth-it product. Amazing formula, packaging and wand. Benefit didn’t really impress me with this one. This was just okay.
This formula is more wet (at least the first few uses) but still not a “wet” formula. (I hate wet formulas–I need to be able to blink in the next 5 minutes after applying mascara without it smearing all over my undereye area.) It is a nice, lengthening and volumizing mascara. But it isn’t that nice. I feel like this is just your average mascara. It doesn’t do anything special for me. In the photo below, left side (my right eye) is no mascara, right side (my left eye) is Benefit BadGal. Sure, it’s noticeable. It’s mascara. But couldn’t I do the same thing with any $10 drugstore mascara? I think so. I’m not knocking Benefit. I just think this particular product is average. Not even bad, just not exceptional. I wouldn’t repurchase this if I ran out. It’s just too expensive for what it is.
Overall, this mascara is dupe-able at the drugstore level. There’s nothing really that special in this $19 price tag. Keep shopping!
