Cream blushers are especially great for that natural looking glow. This baby, Bang, from Urban Decay delivers just that, and much more! The reddish coral tone is perfectly on trend for this fall and next spring. The color looks super bright and neon in the pan, but don’t worry, once applied, it sheers out and gives you the healthiest and rosy glow ever. Yes, like an afterglow, if you catch my drift.
There are multiple ways to apply cream blush, and there’s almost no real “wrong” way. My four favorite and fool proof ways are as:
- With a flat, synthetic foundation brush – Tap on a little bit of product onto your clean foundation brush, and tap it onto your cheeks. Blend it blush out by using short feathered strokes to diffuse the product. This method allows for the most precise application, and it’s my favorite of the four.
- With a stippling brush – Stippling brushes, like the MAC 187, are awesome for applying both cream and powder blushers. By using a stippling brush to apply cream blush guarantees that your blush is well blended and diffused. Simply tap the brush into the blush, and apply it as you would a powder blush.
- With a sponge – I learned this method from watching celebrity makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff, at a makeup demo earlier this year. Essentially she couldn’t find a clean foundation brush, so instead of using her fingers on the client, she grabbed a clean sponge and used it to tap the cream blush onto the cheek. Then she turned the sponge around to a clean side and blended the blush out. It’s quick, easy, and very sanitary.
- With fingers – When all of my makeup brushes are dirty, instead of using them, I just wash my hands and apply all of my makeup with my fingers. When using fingers to apply cream blush though, tap it on in a stippling motion with your third and ring finger. This ensures that you won’t apply too much product or rub too much of it off either. This method allows you to apply makeup anywhere without having to bring any tools, but make sure your hands are clean!
Hope you find these tips helpful! As for Bang, there is a small con with the wear time as listed above, especially for those with oily skin. That however, is easily remedied by applying a very tiny amount of translucent powder right above, or even by applying some sort of powdered highlighter if you want a little extra shimmer.
Overall: I love all the bright yet natural looking colors from Urban Decay’s After Glow Glide-On Cheek Tint line, but Bang is a great color for pretty much everyone. Grab it soon at Sephora, Ulta, or UrbanDecay.com!

Ahhh… this color looks great in the pan, but when I see the swatches it looks to me like smudged blood :-s
)
I’m probably just in a weird moment right now
I love it!!! I have Score but I think I’m going to collect all of the colors. I love this blush so much. xoxo
I am not really a cream blush person. I would more lean on to a powder blush. I guess I am a bit afraid to use cream blush.
Play around with it at Sephora, or ask one of the cast members to demo it on you. I used to be scared too, thinking I’ll smear it everywhere, but it’s REALLY easy to apply.
It’s a great color though
It looks like a really gorgous flushed color. I absolutely love how it looks in the pan too. I wonder if they make a super bright color like that.
