Benefit Smokin Eyes Kit Review

Written by , Posted in Cassandra, Product Review, Swatches

Price: $36
Where to Buy: Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s. Wherever Benefit is sold.
Pros:

  • A few looks are possible, can go from “day” to “night” easily
  • Great for travel
  • Magnetic tweezers: GENIUS!
  • Huge mirror

Cons:

  • Limited colors; only a few looks
  • Not a great eye pencil

Packaging:
Love the packaging. If anyone else is like me, they’ve got a lot of traveling done (or to do yet!) this summer. I like simple products I can “grab and go” without having to hem and haw over which palettes or loose shadows to bring. This makes it easy. Additionally, the packaging is magnetic so nothing should fall out. It survived several drop/throw tests. Huge mirror inside, major plus, in my opinion. There was a book of instructions.

Review:
There really isn’t a lot to dislike here. I wish there had been one “fun” color with the pink, pewter and charcoal. Maybe a green or a purple. Just something a little more fun!The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the eye pencil. It’s a little too tough for my sensitive eye area.

Overall
Kind of “vanilla” but it does take the guesswork out of creating a look. Perfect for travel!
